Create bootable drives for Linux distributions

UNetbootin is a piece of software developed for Windows, Mac and Linux operating systems that allows users to create a bootable USB drive for Ubuntu without the need to burn a CD. By either downloading an ISO file for you or by using an existing one you already have, it can load distributions. Its built-in support means you can automatically download distributions such as Ubuntu, Debian, Linux Mint, Zenwalk, Fedora and many more.

Create a bootable drive

If you’d like to create a drive installer without having to burn a CD, UNetbootin helps users create bootable Live USB drives for Linux distributions, including Ubuntu, that are supported right out of the box. Similarly, users can supply their own ISO file. UNetbootin is easy to use and bootable drives can be created quickly by following just a few simple steps. All users need to do it select the ISO file or supported distribution, their target drive and reboot once done. To install distributions not included, select the Disk Image option and provide it with an ISO file.

Wide-ranging distribution support

In most cases, UNetbootin will support the distribution of your choice. Ubuntu, Kubuntu, Xubuntu, Linux Mint, Zenwalk, Slax and many more are included in the built-in support for automatic downloads, though installing others is supported if you intend to supply your own. It can also load system utilities, like Parted Magic, SystemRescueCD, FreeDOS and more.
